This Privacy Policy explains how xTools ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and safeguards information when you visit https://sastools.lovable.app (the "Service"). Our approach is simple: keep as little data as possible, keep it on your device wherever possible, and never sell or share it. By using xTools you agree to the practices described below. 1. Who we are
xTools is a free collection of browser-based online utilities such as calculators, converters, generators, formatters and design helpers. The Service is operated as an independent project. All processing described below refers to activity on the Service itself and not to any third-party website you may reach through a link.
2. Our privacy principles
Privacy by design: tools run entirely inside your browser wherever technically possible. No account required: you can use every free tool without signing up. No file uploads to our servers: files you drop into a tool are processed locally on your device and are never transmitted to us. Data minimisation: we do not collect personal information we do not need. No selling of data: we never sell, rent or trade personal information.
3. Information we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, physical address, payment details or government-issued identifiers. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not track you across other websites. Content you paste, generate, upload or download inside a tool stays on your device.
4. Information processed locally in your browser
Some tools save small amounts of data to your browser's local storage so the Service can remember your preferences between visits. This includes your theme choice (light or dark), your list of favorite tools and, for some tools, the last inputs you used. This data lives on your device only. You can clear it at any time from your browser's site settings.
5. Information collected automatically
When you visit the Service, standard web request information may be recorded by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention. This can include your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, pages visited and timestamps. Logs are used for diagnostics, uptime monitoring and to detect misuse. We do not use this information to identify individual visitors.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
xTools does not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies. We use only strictly necessary browser storage (local storage) to remember your settings, plus, if enabled, a privacy-friendly analytics cookie to count aggregate visits. 7. Analytics
If aggregate analytics are enabled, we collect anonymised usage statistics such as which tools are visited, page load performance and general country-level location derived from IP. These metrics are aggregated and do not identify you. We use them only to understand which tools are useful and to improve reliability.
8. Third-party services
A small number of tools may fetch data from public third-party APIs to work (for example, an IP address lookup tool must call a public IP information API). When a tool depends on an external service, that request is initiated from your browser directly and is subject to the third party's own privacy policy. We do not send third parties any information beyond what is required to complete the request you made.
9. Legal bases for processing (EU / UK users)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: legitimate interests, for keeping the Service secure, preventing abuse and improving usability; consent, where required for optional analytics or embedded content; and legal obligation, where we must retain information to comply with the law.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal information, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because xTools does not maintain user accounts and does not receive the content you process, most of these rights are exercised directly through your browser settings. 11. Children's privacy
xTools is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
12. International transfers
The Service is delivered through a global content delivery network. This means the servers responding to your request may be located outside your country of residence. Any transfer is limited to the technical information described in section 5 and is protected by appropriate safeguards required by applicable law.
13. Data retention
Locally stored preferences remain on your device until you clear them. Server access logs are retained for a short period necessary for security and diagnostics, then deleted or anonymised.
14. Security
The Service is served exclusively over HTTPS. We follow industry-standard practices to protect our infrastructure, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping the device and browser you use up to date.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
